The ELTE platform is a website system we built for Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. All eleven faculty websites now run on it, so editors publish, search and share content from one place instead of eleven.

From eleven systems to one place to work.
Before
Every faculty had its own website system, and some kept Hungarian and English in separate ones. Editors logged in and out all day.
A news item for three faculties was typed in three times. Search worked one site at a time, and newsletters lived in separate tools.
Even a colour change on a faculty website needed a developer.
Now
All eleven faculty websites run on one platform, in Hungarian and English, with one login for everyone.
A news item is published once, and other faculties take it over with one click. Search covers every faculty and respects who can see what.

What else we built them
Three things editors no longer do by hand.
They needed staff pages that stay up to date
Staff profiles from the university database
Profiles of professors, deans and lecturers update automatically from the central staff database, so nobody edits them by hand.
They needed newsletters without extra tools
Newsletters from the website
Campaigns are created in the platform and sent through Mailchimp, to the right mailing list for each faculty, without copying content around.
They needed years of content moved safely
Complete content migration
Pages, events, study programmes, galleries and documents moved from the old system, and every old link still leads to the right page.
THE RESULT
Editors spend their time on content again.
